JOSH WECHSLER
is a passionate and versatile arts educator, director, and voice teacher with over 20 years of experience guiding students through every stage of their artistic development. He brings a holistic, student-centered approach to his work, integrating acting, voice, music direction, and production to empower young artists not just to perform, but to thrive.
Josh is the co-founder of The J² Method, a training company he launched with longtime collaborator Jen Young, following over a decade of success co-directing the Pre-Professional Company at ZACH Theatre. There, they built a nationally recognized program with a 100% college acceptance rate and a legacy of alumni now working on Broadway, national tours, regional theaters, and in arts education and leadership across the country.
In addition to directing, Josh is a sought-after voice teacher known for his highly individualized approach and deep understanding of the voice as both an instrument and a vessel for truth. His work is rooted in the belief that great performance comes from integration—not just technical skill, but emotional awareness, mental clarity, and personal connection.
A popular and highly trained yoga teacher, Josh is certified in multiple styles and incorporates breathwork, mindfulness, and somatic awareness into his performing arts training. He is deeply committed to mental and emotional wellness in theatre education, creating inclusive, high-expectation spaces where students feel supported, seen, and empowered to take creative risks.
At the heart of Josh’s work is a lifelong love of storytelling, music, and the transformative power of the arts. He is proud to help nurture the next generation of confident, skillful, and compassionate artists—onstage and in life.
